Master Handline Repairman

Hello everybody! I'm sorry that I didn't write last week. Especially to you, Grandma. I was busy, but should have tried to make time for writing this. Sorry. Elder Lund left, which was very sad. He's one of my favorite companions that I've had on the mission. He has taught me so much, and I know he'll do well in college and whatever else he does after the mission. With Elder Lund gone, that means that I'm in charge of a lot of things that he was. I'm now doing his handline and Elder Waite is doing my old one. I also now take salt and mineral to almost all of the cows, which is something that he always did. On top of that, just about anyone who would have had Elder Lund help them with a project or something asks me to help them. I hope that I'm up to it. This week I got to do some dragging again! Although, this time, it was for a different purpose. The new pivots over at Roger's needed to be planted, and discing was not enough to break up some massi...

Squeaky Cheese

Here's my weekly email, only slightly behind schedule. I've been reading the emails of my cousin, Elder Dahl. I'm a big fan of those, especially every time he's mentioned Dr. Pepper. It's great to read my cousin, Sister Johnson's emails too. It's cool that we're all serving at the same time. I finished chopping up the bull thistle in Reservoir. I'm kinda glad to not be doing that just because of how long I've been doing it. I also found out that you can eat bull thistle. Basically the flower and the stem (skin them both unless you want to become a pin cushion). I haven't tried the stem yet, but the head was alright. I'm now an expert at driving screws through sheet metal. We clad the roof on the new pump house, and I think it looks pretty good, mostly because I did most of the work. We got a flat tire in the truck on our way to work on it, and Elder Waite almost got Elder Enrico killed by climbing up in the truck to scroll on his phone....

Machete!

Hello everyone! I hope that you've had a great week! Mine has been pretty good. The reservoir has had bull thistle absolutely everywhere! Cade had me start cutting it instead of digging it up, because the main goal is to keep them from going to seed. After a few things, I found that the machete works really well! It definitely reminds me of macheting in La Masica. My handline has had a hard time standing upright, and the deer flies make setting it up a whole lot more irritating. I'm not sure if it won't stand up because of poor water pressure, or that I've accidentally swapped some pipes so now they don't connect well? I don't know. But either way, it's not the worst thing ever. The Zengers have been gone this week, which means that we haven't had dinners with them. I've missed that. We have had a dinner with the Davises, which was pretty great. It's also been good to take care of the Zengers' cats again. Since the Zs weren't here to ta...
