New Four-Wheeler?

Image
Hello everybody! I'm sorry that I haven't written in a bit. A lot of stuff has happened. Some of it's cool, some of it is not, but that's life! There is a metric ton of bull thistle! I only got to see it on Friday, but it's all in the field with a reservoir. It's more than all of the pivots we've dug out combined. I'm not sure if I'm excited or scared to dig it all. On Thursday. We had quite the cattle drive! We moved all of the yearling heifers from the Roger's area to the Lister field (I think about 5 miles?). We had a train wreck because some 16 of the neighbors cows got mixed with ours. That was our fault because we should have pushed theirs away in advance. Luckily, Cade came on his horse and saved the day helping us sort them. We were having an impossibly difficult time before he arrived. I had a fun adventure when Elders Waite and Enrico lost the endcap for their handline. I helped them look for it; luckily they found it. I also moved th...

Nana's Wedding

So for those of you that don't know, I grew up calling my older sister Nana instead of her name Liliana. She got married last Friday, which is pretty great. I got to come away from the ranch and visit my family and be there for her wedding. It's all good stuff. After my family picked me up, we went to Lehman Caves, which is near the ranch here. Digging bull thistle is still going strong. Pivot 7 had a massive patch of it that took us half a week to get through. Last that I checked, the cows are still in our handline field, destroying sprinkler heads and all that jazz. They also brought in legions of flies and gnats that are very annoying, but oh well. Actually, now that I'm back, the cows are gone. The horseflies have become ten times worse now. Cool. I've just gotten into the book of Alma, which has a lot of war stuff in the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon was written for our day. I know that we're meant to get something out of these chapters. I think that the...

The No-Good, Terrible, Very Bad Day

Hello everybody! I hope you've all been doing great. I'm sorry that I didn't write an email last week. I meant to do it, bit never got to it. Sad to say, I don't have too much more to write than I would have. The vast majority of my time has been spent digging bull thistle. I really enjoy it! It's so nice and peaceful with nobody else around. I love listening to conference talks while I work, and I've even started listening to the "Follow Him" podcast! My wrist has been getting better since I sprained it, but I've since sustained other injuries. While helping Cade with tire work, I cut off a big slab of skin off my thumb with a flathead screwdriver. Not great. A dry part of my hand also started hurting and cracking, but constant application of Vaseline had helped with that. Friday was a really tough day. I had to move my handline to the top, during which I somehow lost my headphones that I was wearing around my neck. After I'd laid out the pi...
