You Can't Have Everything

Image
Hello everyone, I just got emergency transferred. I'm in a place called William Hall in El Progreso. I don't know why yet, but this area has electricity that doesn't go out all the time, and the food is consistently amazing! We get to eat with members pretty much every night. The AC works too, so I'm very happy about that. My trainer is now my Zone Leader, so that is awesome. In this area, we don't get water during the day, only at night. But it also doesn't work most of the time because the neighbors are using up all the water pressure. Fun. Some things are worse, but overall, this area is a huge improvement. There were already 3 fechas (people who plan to get baptized) when I got here, so that is awesome. It is a lot busier here with working later into the night, and dinner with members. We also haven't had any time in the morning for our studies, but that's because we've been going to the temple open house every day. Well worth it. We're in th...

Many Things

Hello everybody! How are you all doing? I hope you are doing well. As some of you might remember, I was sick last P- Day. Tuesday I was all better. We went to La Cumbre and we also went to family home evening here in la Masica. Wednesday we had exchanges. I was with Elder Brown, and we went with the bishop to visit a family in San Antonio, where a friend of the bishop was sick. Then I started to feel sick. We went back to the house, and I rested for 20 minutes. After that we went back to work, but I shortly began to feel sick again. We came back home again, and I got progressively worse throughout the day, having stomach pain and eventually a headache and fever. Throughout the night, my headache got worse, but my fever got better. The next morning, I could not feel the tips of my fingers, but we bought medicine, and I rested for about all day and I eventually was feeling much better.  Friday we were in town all day and tried to visit that one family that I visited before with Elder...

Cat-Called, The Temple, and Baptism (and now sick)

Hello everybody! This week has been crazy, long and short, lots of cool stuff. This email is gonna be kinda short cause I've got food poisoning and feel awful. Tuesday we went to the hospital because my companion hasn't been able to hear much out of his right ear. All they told him was to take more medicine and that it's probably an infection. He's on an antibiotic. Wednesday was the 11th of September. I won't forget. We had pig feet for lunch. It was awful, and I hope I can forget that. Thursday we went to La Cumbre, and there was some cool thunder from over the mountain. It made a crackling sound before the boom. We layer visited Fabiola, and Ruben (the drunk one that lives with his mom, not me) came up to us at least three times and left while we were trying to talk to Fabiola and her family. We promised to visit him afterwards, and we did. He was face-flat on the ground outside his house when we found him. Don't drink. We went to Santa Ana on Friday. It was ...

Date's Back on Track!

Me with a kitten in the yard. I did the "pspspsps" thing, and it came to me immediately! Cats are one of my favorite things about Honduras. Hello everybody!  I hope you are doing well. This week has been crazy once again, which might be normal, but then again I wouldn't know. This week was busy! ! I was in charge of directing the area because my training ends in 2 weeks, which was very stressful. The bright side is that last P-day from a Facebook missionary group, I got a lot of sheet music in a Google Drive! So now I have a simplified hymn book, several songs, and several jazz fake books! I remember once my grandma gave me a fake book for practicing the piano, but I didn't use it much then because I didn't recognize any of the songs, but now that I've listened to more music I recognize lots of the songs from Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Louis Armstrong! It's also got a lot of music theory books, so I hope to better step up my hymn playing for the war...

Church Attendance Church Attendace!

Hello everybody! This week has been fun. It definitely had its own challenges though. Funny thing is, I've noticed about all the emails of the other missionaries from the CCM are getting shorter. I can't help but wonder if I'm following that pattern. Tuesday was Multizone Conference. It was pretty good. President and Sister Ostler both gave wonderful devotionals. We didn't do interviews sadly, but we did get flu shots! I had a nice talk with an elder who's got only 4 months left. He's planning on going to BYUI too, so that's exciting! Wednesday we had district council, lunch, and a meeting (with the Rosanos) all in the church. We left for La Cumbre at about 2:00-3:00. We had some really cool teaching experiences that day. Thursday was crazy hot! Then that night it rained, which made the power go out. This place has absolutely no infrastructure. I'm working on making some kind of portable power supply, and José Benites has been a huge help with that! He...
