You Can't Have Everything
Hello everyone,
I just got emergency transferred. I'm in a place called William Hall in El Progreso. I don't know why yet, but this area has electricity that doesn't go out all the time, and the food is consistently amazing! We get to eat with members pretty much every night. The AC works too, so I'm very happy about that. My trainer is now my Zone Leader, so that is awesome.
In this area, we don't get water during the day, only at night. But it also doesn't work most of the time because the neighbors are using up all the water pressure. Fun. Some things are worse, but overall, this area is a huge improvement. There were already 3 fechas (people who plan to get baptized) when I got here, so that is awesome.
It is a lot busier here with working later into the night, and dinner with members. We also haven't had any time in the morning for our studies, but that's because we've been going to the temple open house every day. Well worth it.
We're in the city, and the ward is pretty big, so we share the area with a couple of sisters. We have lunch and dinner with them, and my comp likes to talk with them a lot ',:/ Last night we were at dinner with a member and they had a TV. The sisters were searching through the channels until they found Hercules. Then they started talking to each other about the things they look for in a man. Very much the wrong time and place.
The members are good and very interesting. They like to talk a lot, but that's just everyone here. I've noticed that everyone has very strong opinions on all the non-important things, and they think that truth is up to intepretation. Maybe I'm only noticing it here in Honduras, but it exists in the rest of the world? I don't know.
This new area is cool, and I'm happy to be here. Hopefully I'll get some lunch soon (it is currently 5:26pm) My spiritual thought with General Conference this next week is Eph. 2:20 "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;"
I want to bear my testimony that there is a literal prophet of God on the Earth today: Russel M. Nelson. I know that he points the way to Jesus Christ. I promise you that if you follow his counsel, which is meant for you at this time, you will see your life improve in ways you might have not thought of. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Take care everyone, and may the Lord bless you.
