Wood and Fire

Hello everybody!

I hope that you all have had a good couple of weeks. Sorry that I didn't write last week. I forgot and then procrastinated writing that email until today.

I have dragged so much wood into burn piles this week and burned them. It's gotten very repetitive. The wood also tore dome holes in my fancy gloves. It's weird that the cheaper gloves are tougher.

On Monday I did a lot of that wood, and so did Greg (a single senior service missionary--alliteration not intended). Its super boggy here, so he wasn't expecting the fire to try and spread through the grass to the dead trees nearby. Well, it did. We tried putting it out, but with only two buckets, there wasn't much we could do. Now I'm cleaning all that up because there are two live trees right there.

I've finally learned how to change oil and clean air filters on a four-wheeler. Took me long enough. I've also replaced the wheel gearbox on a pivot, so I'm learning a lot about mechanical things.

The Garrison Branch is so nice. We had a potluck for 5th Sunday, and it was so good! I've gotten to know a few of the people, and they're all awesome! Especially the ones out here on the ranch.

Something that really stood out to me in general conference was the idea "Stop asking what God would permit and start asking what God prefers." That is something that I am going to work on.

Sincerely,
Elder Cobian
