Pathway and News from Hondruas
Hello Everybody, how are you doing? I hope that you've all have had a good week.
I got to got to the Spanish Branch for the first time this last Sunday. It was good! There were less people than I thought there would be. We met in the Sunday School room in the church next to Home Depot in Elko. It was good, I enjoyed it.
At Family Home Evening with the YSA Branch, we did a painting night. It went well, except for my painting. I don't think you can tell who it is. Whichever one of you can tell me what it is, I will give you a whole whopping nothing! At Game Night with the same branch, we played Dodgeball. I didn't like it too much because I'm not very good at it. I should practice more so then I will be good.
I went to FISH, as always, with the Spanish Elders. It was a little different because I got to meet some Elders in a trio that covers a part of Elko and all of Carlin. I was gonna go to do Volleyball with the Spanish Branch yesterday, because I found out that they do it every Saturday but decided against it. Maybe I'll go next time.
I got to teach English Connect 3 for Pathway for the first time! It was super stressful getting set up because I found out they started a half hour earlier 15 minutes after it started, I couldn't find my church key to get inside the Stake Center, and I was having WiFi problems. I finally was able to get into the class, and it went well! I led a lot of discussions in breakout rooms and got to know the learners more. Most were from Columbia, then Peru, and finally Bolivia. One of them from Bolivia served his mission in Honduras! It's cool how it really is a small world.
I forgot to mention this last time, but I got some good news from Honduras, one of our friends who I taught just got baptized! Her name is Vilma, and I know that she was just ready for the gospel. Both of her daughters had been baptized, one of them was my first Sunday in Progresso. She really wanted to get baptized, but so many things had gotten in her way and postponed it, but now she's finally made that covenant with our Lord Jesus Christ. I am very excited for her to follow along the covenant path and to grow in the gospel. I also got some sad news from Honduras. Javier, the first person I baptized, passed away a few weeks ago. I was very saddened by this news, but I know that there wasn't a better time than now for this to happen to him. My companion at the time, Elder Paton, and I had talked about whether we thought he would endure to the end or not, and I am certain that he did. I know that he will continue on the covenant path on the other side of the veil. He is on the right track.
