It's Temple Time!
Hi everybody!
This week has been slow! This adjusting thing is pretty hard, but we're getting there! It was good to see everyone in my home ward, and there are some new faces there. Something that surprised me is how tall everyone is now! All of the young men have shot up, and it kinda scares me.
After church, Brother Anderson (my great uncle) asked me to teach Sunday School for the YSA in our ward for tomorrow. I'm excited! I hope that I'll do well.
New Year's was good. I got to stay up, and made New Year's day my "P-Day," but I'm doing all my emails today while traveling back from the temple! More on that later.
This week we moved wood for my Grandpa. My brothers and I loaded his truck with logs he had cut from an area near a creek that he owns (Boulder Creek). We did get stuck, but got ourselves unstuck by partially filling the truck, putting bark underneath the tires, lots of rocking back and forth, and multiple attempts. We almost had to get Grandpa involved!
I've done a little bit of Family History work, but I feel like it's harder now. I need to get back into the swing of things, and learn a lot more!
I went to District Council of the missionaries nearby, and it was really good. I've also done two lessons with a family (relatively) nearby with the sister missionaries. That has been pretty good. The family is from Mexico, so it has been good to connect with them in Spanish. They're very excited for me to start teaching English to them. I hope that I'll do well. I need to study the curriculum more first. I will start doing English classes twice a week starting on Wednesday.
On Thursday I got to go to the Deseret Peak Temple for the first time. My dad and I went along for our ward youth temple trip. It was beautiful and I liked the way they do things there. It makes me excited for when our Elko Temple is complete.
Then I went to the temple again today (that makes three times since I've been home--I've been to the Bountiful Temple, Deseret Peak, and today the Jordan River Temple)! My mom is much more experienced in Family History Work than I am. She found my 4th great uncle who hadn't have any of his ordinances performed prior. I'm still waiting to be approved to work at the temple, so I went through and did proxy baptism all the way to proxy endowment for him. It was so good to do! I definitely felt the spirit at the temple, and it makes me want to do better and be better so I can feel the spirit more strongly and frequently.
Well, that's all I've got. I hope you all take care and that the Lord blesses you.
Sincerely, Elder Cobian

We got 10% off if we each posted about the restaurant on social media. Anything for a discount! My mom said I could post or pay the difference. I went for a post about my fruit. |

| Me at the sushi restaurant we went to after the temple. It was all-you-can-eat, which was a good way to start our monthly fast. |
