Eight Hours on a Plane

Hello Everybody! How are you all doing? This is all very weird, I almost feel like I don't belong here. I feel purposeless, and that I need to get to work. I hope I'll be able to adjust to being a service missionary soon.

My last days in Honduras all went by so fast. I worked as hard as I could, but the problem is that there just wasn't very much work to do! On Monday, just about all of our visits fell through because nobody was home. My last work day (Christmas Day) also didn't have as much work as I thought it would because the zone council went a lot longer than normal. We spent so much time waiting for our food from Pollolandia. The food itself was awful. Never eat there. No wonder Ostlers tell us not to!

I spent a little bit of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day packing and cleaning. I also did have some fun times playing games with the missionaries there although I didn't win much. The night of Christmas Eve we were trying to teach our friends Martha and Eliana Mejia. The problem is that these little kids across the street kept blowing up these very loud fireworks. There'd be a loud "BANG!" and then I wouldn't hear anything but a ringing in my ears for a few seconds. I didn't like that much.

It was hard getting rid of enough things for my bags to be within the 50lbs limit. Only five pounds over would have cost me $180! I'm not sure about what any of you think, but I think that is a little bit too much. I had to throw away and give away a lot of things, which worked out fine. I got to hang out with the office elders for the night and part of the morning. The trip back was very long and stressful. I flew from Honduras to Atlanta, Georgia, and then to Salt Lake. I barely made it to my first flight, and then had to wait a long time for my second flight because it was delayed twice.

It was great to see my family again, and we also got to go to the temple yesterday. I loved that since I hadn't been in the temple since the CCM.

Last night, I got to talk with my stake president and service mission leaders. We talked about some service opportunities like working for the Global Services help desk, teaching English to Spanish speakers, and being a mentor for Pathway students. I'm most interested in teaching English of those three. Either way, I'm excited to get back to work!

I've been thinking a bit recently about the third chapter of Amos in the old testament (As I'm sure most of you do on a regular basis!), and I love how it talks about the surety that God always works through prophets. If you look at the verses before that, it says some of those exciting things like can you catch a bird in a trap without bait? Will a lion try to kill something if there's nothing to get? Of course God reveals His secrets to His prophets! Of course He always works through them. I'm so very grateful that I know that there is a prophet in the world today. Today I got to go to a Spanish lesson and help the full-time missionaries (and my mom) teach about living prophets. The work continues!

Whelp, I hope you are all doing well. Take Care! And may the Lord bless you.
