Rain and No Water
Hello Everybody!
I don't know how those two (rain and no water) are possible, but we haven't had water for the last three days. I was all out of clean pants yesterday (they were all muddy), and I ended up wearing my blue jeans (for p-days) to church. Luckily, I hand-washed some pants today, and I've got enough clean clothes to last 2-4 days.
It feels like less and less people actually are paying attention when we teach them. I would much rather have them speak their minds and tell us they're not interested.
We were worried that we'd have to drop our Social Media reference friend (Martha) because she has seemed less and less interested. However, we did a member lesson with her this week, and she came to church yesterday! So I still have hope for her.
Jerson and Jafeth have been steadily coming to church, I think it's funny that they then go to Evangelical church in the afternoon. Props to them for having commitment! Please pray for them to find answers to their prayers.
Saturday it rained cats and dogs! I wish I'd taken a picture of the main street in front of our house. It was up to my ankles in most spots, and halfway up my shins in one place. All that rain from only a couple of hours!
We are teaching Vilma, the mother of our most recent convert named Madelin, and we would like her to set a date for her baptism. She has told us that she wants baptism, but she is going to move to another part of Progreso. The least we can do is help her prepare for it.
On Nevada Day (October 31st, also known to some of you as Halloween), I had exchanges with my trainer Elder Paton. He's now my zone leader. It was very nice to get back with him for a bit, but his area is hard because nobody wants anything to do with the Church, so finding new people to teach is hard for him. I sang the Nevada Sate Song to Elder Paton.
We also had a nice lesson with our neighbor Elena. She's a single mother who lives on the other half of the apartment. She's had some hard times in life, and she is very nice. Her toddler son became fascinated with my magnetic nametag and mechanical pencil. He didn't want me to leave when the lesson was over. He's a really cute kid.
I had a very neat little miracle earlier this week!! When I was calling home last P-Day, my mom asked me if I wanted her to order a new umbrella for me since mine is lost, I felt an impression that I shouldn't, so I told her not to order it. Then Wednesday, the general secretary called and told me they finally found my umbrella! I'm very happy about that. That's my spiritual thought: Listen to the Spirit, and just act with faith. We don't have to know the end result of our actions to know that it will be ok if we trust in God.
Whelp, that's all I've got. I hope you are all doing well and taking care. May God bless you.
