Week 10

¡Buenas!

That's what we say at every house or pulpería instead of knocking, so I couldn't help but put it in this time.

This week was full of meetings! I found out the one from last week was called zone council. We then had Multizone Conference, District Council, and Exchanges again! I was with an Elder Brown this time; he's very cool.  Some good food was definitely involved this week. I got to have Wendy's for breakfast at zone conference, and I forgot to tell you all that I got to try the legendary Shrek Popsicle last week. I'd kill for another one now.

Sometimes we're able to find Javier, and sometimes not. I don't know if that's on purpose or not, but he'd better buck up! His baptismal date is on Saturday!

Friday we did service for a member by raking up grass clippings and mango leaves from her yard because that's where they were gonna sell the carne asada for a fundraiser so they can go to the San Pedro Sula Temple Open House.

I feel like God has a sense of humor because all there were were at the service project were rotten mangoes. The only mango I've had was a completely green one. They eat them like that here. Dangit people, have some patience! On the bright side, I've got to try some litchis (however you spell that) and other fruit that I haven't been able to find the name of, so that's fun!

This Saturday the ward did that carne asada thing for fundraising for the temple trip. We bought some, and it was pretty good! I did still end up hungry afterwards, so it's a good thing we had lunch then.

Yesterday I played the piano for my ward, but I set it to sound like an organ! That made it fun. I hope with practice I'll be able to get much better.

I've been thinking a lot about a talk from Thomas S. Monson in 2010 titled "The Three R's of Choice." It's really good! I recommend you all listen to it. I learned from it that our choices really do matter, and they're ours to make! I also know that nobody, absolutely nobody, is immune to the temptations of the adversary. His methods are cunning, and his victims are numerous. We absolutely cannot afford detours on our journey back to our Father in Heaven.

Pictures and video are:

Me, my companion, and two other elders I don't remember their names at multizone conference

Video of me at our little service project. I think that's how golf should be! (I'm terrible at golf.)

Have a good week,
Elder Ruben Cobian
